We are seeking a Procedural Physician Assistant in our Cardiothoracic Surgery department. This position acts as a licensed mid-level practitioner, allocating time in specialty area cardiothoracic by assisting with surgeries or procedures, serving as consulting clinician in the hospital, and/or triaging and treating patients who present to the clinic and/or Emergency Department. Some clinic work may be involved on an ad hoc basis.

The department of Cardiothoracic Surgery performs 300-400 cases per year. We are a 3 surgeon, 2 physician assistant group looking to add a third PA. Duties include surgical assisting, endoscopic conduit harvesting, and full scope care of patients in critical and non-critical units. Call coverage is variable. The PA's role includes surgical, medical, and interdisciplinary patient management through the continuum of care. We VM is a progressive organization with a very PA friendly environment. An ideal candidate is NCCPA certified and has experience in cardiothoracic surgery, endoscopic conduit harvesting, and critical care. This position requires Certification as a Physician's Assistant with prescriptive authority in the State of Washington, plus one year experience in specialty areas.
